The Harper-Chesser Historic Inn, listed in the National Register, offers you exceptional lodging and gourmet dining. The main house, built in 1890 by County Judge D.S. Chesser, was an addition to an ashlar-cut limestone block structure built by Dr. D. George Harper in 1860. The original stone remains in the current spacious dining room and kitchen which share a unique double fireplace. The inviting study and antique furnished parlor, each with its own fireplace, provide comfortable space for relaxation, conversation, meeting friends, social gatherings, or small meetings.

The home features beautiful, hand-painted murals in each major room and bedroom.

Owners Ruth and RC Lumpkin live on-site and are continuing the preservation of this grand, steamboat gothic style building located in the Georgetown Historic District. RC, a classically trained chef, also offers cooking classes, wine pairings, and special menu demonstrations. Created For You Catering

The large dining room provides a stage for gourmet breakfasts for Inn guests as well as private events on arrangement. Guests are invited to enjoy the beautiful gardens, which also provide a special backdrop to events.
